Easy Install on a 2001
PT Crusier Ltd Edition

(F3624 In-line Kit)

For this installation we have choosen the Fitch F3624 Kit. The PT has "blockers" or "Anti-syphion devices" in the fuel filler pipe or tank so the Fitch Drop-in units cannot be used by inserting them down the fuel filler pipe. So lets begin shall we.

NOTE:
Read all the instructions and follow the directions included with your Fitch Fuel Catalyst Unit!.

First we open the hood and identify our fuel lines on the vehicle. These will be a 3/8" diameter or 5/16" on most cars and trucks today. The PT uses the 5/16th fuel line kit.
There are two connection points that we can use on the PT Crusier. One at the front by the radiator and one at the rear against the firewall. For ease of installation we have chosen to connect to the rear one.

Before disconnecting any line find the appropriate place to mount the Fitch unit. All you need is a nut that may be removed from a secure part such as you see our unit mounted or you may drill a new hole and mount with the bolt supplied in the kit. This is usually the longest part of the installation, finding a place to mount the unit securely.

Next make sure that the hoses can be routed to the OEM attachment fuel line fittings.
Always make sure it will be secure and in the upright position preferably. Remember to keep the unit away from electrical components such as the battery and altenator.

After making sure we have plenty of line that can be routed safely away from any heat sources such as the exhaust, we bolt our Fitch unit on. We have hooked up the lines paying special attention to the fuel flow direction as indicated on the Fitch unit. Now we install it on the car.

Once the unit is secure we un-clip the factory connector from the fuel line and replace it with the proper end in the kit that fits on the exposed fuel line. Just push onto the line and snap into place. Take the other end of the Quick Connect Kit and plug the other end of the line that was removed into it.
(NOTE: You will need the small white plastic piece that may still be on the factory fuel line. Remove it carefully so as not to break it and place it on the Fitch line end that looks the same as the fuel line end it came off of.)

Here you can see both ends of the Quick Connect Kit actually plugged in. The front one with the red on the ends is the Fitch Kit line plugged into the factory feed line from the gas tank. In the rear behind it you can see the original factory fitting, now plugged into the other end of the Fitch kit.

It is a good idea to tie-wrap the lines securly together and or into place so that they do not move around in the engine compartment.
Make sure and have a good look around to "Make Sure" you have not left any tools inside the area or on the engine.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Start your car up check for any fuel leaks before you close the hood and go for a drive!!

If all looks well and there are no gas leaks you can close up the hood and go driving and enjoy the benifits gained by using the Fitch Fuel Catalyst!!

Lets go PT Crusing !!!

We are often asked "what if I change vehicle types, say from a Ford to a Dodge?" All you would have to do is change your Hose kit. We carry different Hose kits in stock for just these reasons. You can re-install your Fitch unit on your new vehicle and continue with your savings! "Kits Available, Click Here"
